This is a novel about what it is like to live inside a prison of the mind and how to break out of it - if you can. From the character development, relationships, twists, the plot, this story just completely captivated me and I cannot stop thinking about it. I was looking forward to reading this, but it wasn't what I was expecting. It is a bittersweet read. There are captivating, intricate characters who feel totally real... but it is also full of grief and longing and heart-wrenching mistakes. It is beautifully written with lots of poignant lines that make you pause and think. However I feel guilty recommending this kind of book because it's not a happy, light-hearted read. It is raw, gritty and real. It's like a grey, rainy day, but when you're safe indoors.

There’s no “fall in love & happy every after”. Oh no. We all know life gets in the way too often to allow that to happen! As the daughter of a librarian Jen's love of books started from a very early age. Her reading obsession continued throughout her teenage years when she studied both English Language and English Literature at college. I don't want to give too much away because everyone just needs to read it. The development of each character is fantastic and you know them and their personalities inside out.
