About this deal
I have such a device on my double socket and 4 usb adaptor, though mine also has a button on the plug that turns it off). Most OBD systems will simply measure the voltage directly since one of the pins on the OBD port is defined as being the battery voltage.
If the battery is on the way out then the voltage will fall relatively quickly and the headlights will dim.Disclaimer: Etsy assumes no responsibility for the accuracy, labelling, or content of sellers' listings and products.
There's been a lot of discussion on the forum about faults arising from failing 12V batteries or charging circuitry. In an ICE you can (usually) load the 12V battery with, say, the full beam headlights with the engine not running. You can't use CanZE because the Zoe starts to charge the battery to some degree whenever anything, including the OBDII socket, is operational.Battery analyzers can give you a better insight as to the battery's actual SoC and SoH than just relying on an on-dash voltmeter.
