About this deal

I had to buy a wireless keyboard since my cat kept biting the cable and keycaps to my previous keyboard. The NJ80 has been amazing so far! Các nâng cấp của bản NJ80 AP so với bản NJ80 thường: thêm foam tiêu âm, tăng dung lượng pin từ 4400mAh lên 4800mAh, thêm khả năng kết nối với phần mềm qua receiver. The NJ80-AP by Keydous adds to their lineup with a 75% hot-swappable, wireless keyboard that feels great to type on with fantastic build quality—all while coming in at around ~130 USD.

I do wish the volume knob was remappable as well, but alas it’s not. Being able to use the knob in applications like Photoshop or Premiere would give it a wide range of uses which would’ve turned the Keydous NJ80 into a productivity consideration. The first thing I did was to reassign the Del key as a PrtSc key, so I am a happy camper. For the record, the default hotkey for PrtScr is Fn+P. So there technically is a PrtScr button on the Keydous NJ80. You can also assign shortcuts and macros to key combos involving the modifiers, and the macro recording portion actually works pretty well. However the key assignment could probably be better if you can assign it to have a secondary function when pressed along with a modifier key. The knob cannot be configured for different functions, the default works as a volume wheel, with the press as a mute function. The steps on the volume wheel are subtle but noticeable. The knob is a very welcome feature that I’d love to see on more boards, Keydous’ implementation is as good as any other board, they’ve even included an option rounder knob in case you don’t like the default option. The full ABS plastic body of the Keydous NJ80 comes with one color option: off-white. This gives the keyboard a pretty distinct retro vibe that I’m very much a fan of. But I understand if not everyone is a fan of the yellow space bar, baby blue escape key, and gold volume knob. The Gateron Pro Milky Yellows, combined with the excellent stabilizers, make the overall typing experience incredibly smooth.Open the keyboard power switch, short press FN+44 key light flashing, and insert the receiver into the computer USB port. While you might be tempted to use the Keydous NJ80 without a USB connection to your PC, you actually need one, if you want to customize the keyboard via the software. The software is very limited, with most of the options available on the keyboard itself, but you can reassign all the keys on the Keydous NJ80, with the exception of the volume knob and Fn key. The volume knob can only adjust the volume and mute it with a press. It is not necessary to insert and remove the shaft body with great force. When you find that the shaft body needs great force, it may be misaligned, please stop the operation, otherwise the hot plug base will be damaged, or the solder pad will fall off and the PCB will be directly discarded.

You can configure the Keydous NJ80 in four switch options out of the factory: Gateron Pro Browns, Milky Yellows, TTC Gold Pinks, and Speed Silvers. This is a pretty healthy variety of switches that offers different enough typing experiences that would make most people happy. Now turn on the Bluetooth of the three connected devices at the same time, and switch the device connection by pressing FN+1/2/3. FN+Tab= Switch the sleep time of lights. If the Caps light blinks once, it will start to sleep if it is not used for 2 minutes. This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: If you want to factory reset the NJ80, you can do so by pressing and holding Esc, Left Ctrl, F12, and the right arrow key for 3 seconds. Mac CompatibilityUse the FN key in combination with other keys to switch between Bluetooth, 2.4g, and wired mode, adjust volume, mute, and perform other functions. Keep the Bluetooth receiver away from WIFI signal sources, handle the keyboard gently when inserting and removing the shaft body, and store the keyboard in a cool and dry environment when not in use.

Under its unassuming “sleeper” looks, the Keydous NJ80-AP hides flexible wireless, high-quality parts, and an absolutely incredible typing feel, all for a surprisingly low price. The only downside is its janky software. As I mentioned earlier, the F12 key doubles as a battery indicator. The lighting will glow red if the battery is low, and turn green once the keyboard is fully charged. Function Key ShortcutsUse the original charging cable to connect the USB port of the computer for charging, and the charging current should be less than 1A. The typing experience on this with the gat milky yellows is very creamy. I decided I would need at least a few mods to make it sound more to my liking, but honestly, it is perfect the way it is already. If you are a fan of linear switches then the gateron milky yellow switches are a great option. I am able to connect to my MacBook and PC relatively fast via Bluetooth. No input lag when using Bluetooth for office use, and it shows the battery percentage on the Bluetooth section of your mac. The battery lasts a decent amount of time when used wirelessly, and I am able to switch to my two devices as needed. Love that it came with 2 colored knobs, gold and silver, and also extra keycaps to make my keyboard all white, which matches my aesthetic more.

He's been reviewing gaming peripherals for almost a decade and has reviewed hundreds of mice, keyboards, controllers and other gaming peripherals. The NJ80 is a 75% layout keyboard with an aluminum knob, a layout that is still pretty rare for a pre-built keyboard, especially at its price range. Hold down the FN+1 key for 3 seconds. The keyboard enters the pairing state, and the digit 1 indicator blinks at short intervals. The closest thing to the Keydous NJ-80, with a 75% wireless build and a focus on quality parts, is the excellent Keychron Q1 Pro. And that keyboard has a few distinct advantages over this one: a full metal body, better customization options, and far better software (again, standard QMK/VIA). It also means that the board is a decent (if not ideal) option for PC gaming, something that Bluetooth-only boards can’t boast. Combined with an absolutely massive 4,800mAh battery, it should last for months with the RGB lights turned off—I couldn’t drain the battery completely during my testing period.

The NJ80 has some useful function key shortcuts included. Pressing Fn+1/2/3 cycles through Bluetooth Modes, and Fn+4 switches the keyboard to the 2.4Ghz connection. Fn+5 enters the keyboard into both Bluetooth and 2.4Ghz modes. Likewise, switching between Bluetooth, 2.4 G, and wireless mode is incredibly simple. Bluetooth is FN+1/2/3, and because it is set like this, there isn’t a separate process to go through to save a Bluetooth device. It’s automatically set to whichever number you used to pair to in the first place. Then, to switch to 2.4 G mode it’s FN+4. Technically there is also a key combo for wired mode, but it just switched to that mode automatically when plugged in, so there’s not much point in that setting.
