I know people say this is an ambroxan bomb, but I think the Cashmeran has as much to do with this fragrance's *it* factor. Well I finally got my hands and this and low and behold, this smells exactly like my layering concoction! I tried not to get my feelings hurt when he asked if I had been using some sort of chemical in the house and if we needed to EVACUATE.for sure it's a bit heavier and has a stronger silage than the original but more importantly it has a stronger emphasis on the woody notes. It does also have that BR540 vibe but it goes out on it's own path especially after the initial opening. I also think the IN would layer better with a warm vanilla fragrance because there is somewhat of a warmer aspect to it. EDIT: after over a month of proper storage the scent has macerated and “intensified” imo the yummy pear, whipped cream and musky notes rly push through and it is divine.

It's like when you discover a new food you find delicious, and you eat it over and over again until you've eaten it almost everyday for two year and suddenly the mere thought of that dish makes your stomach churn. It's creamy, lactonic, and sweet which makes it perfect for layering with other fragrances, giving them a milky coziness. I wish I had the pleasure of having tested BR540, because I would love to be able to compare it to this. This perfume is definitely an elevated version of the original one - I am not saying “improved”, but rather enhanced with additional sweetness, depth, creaminess.

Neither of them is sweeter than the other on the dry down only in the beginning is the OG sweeter than the IN. differs to the original, it has a slight (emphasis on slight) creamy texture and it is a tiny bit sweeter and more edible. i wasn't that interested in the fragrance at first but i got a dupe, Midnight Bloom by VS, and i love the woody vanilla that it carries so i took interest in Cloud as well. I'm not really a huge fan of the original because it's too sweet for me, so maybe this one would be better suited for me since it's a bit less sweet and leans more masculine (I love musky scents).
