About this deal

Near summer, Ruby, realizing that the school where the TV movie is being filmed at is a prestigious boarding school for girls, Marnock Heights, decides that the pair ought to sign up for scholarships- of which there is only one. The twins have a row early on in the book, and Rose tempts Garnet downstairs with a kids movie and chocolate. I feel as though Wilson books are a must in the lives of young children, a way of opening their eyes to the real world in the right way. But one day they see on the notice board a poster about a modelling thing so they go there on a Saturday, but there dad find's out and Garnet get sent to a boarding school and Ruby doesn't .

They sit the entrance exam, but Ruby is disgusted by Garnet's descripted and mature writing but remains confident they will both pass. I love the storyline, the problems between the two twins and how their different personalities still make them unique. The book showed the pain, rejection and jealously Ruby was feeling as well as the fear of the unknown both the twins were feeling due to Garnet being sent to a different school to Ruby. Double Act won the prestigious Smarties Medal and the Children’s Book Award as well as being highly commended for the Carnegie Medal. Their dad seems to have just been taken up completely with this new Rose and quite possibly going through a mid life crisi.

Obviously Richard is entirely responsible for his own prickish behaviour, but the catalyst is Rose, his slightly dotty new lady-friend who sells bric-a-brac. Until the last chapter the voice describes carefully their relationship to the outer world remarking that their behavior is immature and childish. My phone started updating just as I was proofreading my review, which promptly disappeared, so this is my second go, and it's going to be brief now since I want to go to sleep!Garnet however is very scared, and is about to deliver a good audition but their father appears just as she is about to begin, and she cannot say anything. It still had some appeal, mostly because it tells about twins and some of the thinks did apply very well to me and my sister as well. Suitable for use by casts with as few as 6 or as many as 30 members, and offering staging opportunities from the simplest to the most sophisticated designs, this script will be eagerly seized upon by English and Drama teachers, youth workers, theatre groups, or even families who'd like to try putting on their own performance at home - and many others.
